Every building, both domestic and rural is built in the traditional Alpine style. Only the ground floor can be built in stone, the rest must be designed with local wood; the balconies, roof pitch, beams, windowsills. Every home, inn, hotel and farmhouse are decked with a spectacular display of flowers.

A winterwonderland awaits you from December to April. The award winning Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschonau ski region has 109km of prepared pistes, fabulous touring and off-piste opportunites, sledge through the wilderness or on prepared paths, snow shoe walking aross snow covered meadows, prepared winter walking routes – it looks like a fairytale, and is an undeniable winter paradise
